Going by this thread: http://forums.opensuse.org/hardware/403457-cis-660-vga-problems.html (also has some more info about the problem) The issue appeared in openSUSE 11.1 and wasn't there in 11.0. 11.2 milestone 2 has the problem as well. Could you give it a try in 16it instead of 24bit? (DefaultDepth in xorg.conf) Another idea is to turn off desktop effects in KDE (in case you've enabled them). Maybe this already helps. Also replace your "Extensions" section in your xorg.conf with the following and restart your Xsession. Bit hectic lately leaving me little time, this weekend I should have some time available and I will install the the 11.2 milestone 3 openSUSE alongside 11.0 (granted the available diskspace lets me do so). I installed openSUSE 11.1 to Asus notebook with SIS graphical chipset. In 10.3 and 11.0 everything worked fine. Installation of 11.1 was OK (good resolution, 1280x800, good colors), but during first login (after finish of splash image), colors are distorted, terrible. When I boot to Rescue mode, I get resolution 800x600, but colors are OK. Strange is that in Sax2, acceleration is turned on (but card does not support it) and it is not possible to uncheck the checkbox. The computer is not usable.
