[Bug 1182548] Prosody XMPP server doesnt handle A/V calls correctly
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1182548 https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1182548#c2 --- Comment #2 from Michael Vetter <mvetter@suse.com> ---
A/V calls not working, what make this software useless.
Don't talk nonsense. Prosody is working just fine and can be used for many usecases.
Prosody server doesnt handle A/V calls, when destination client app is not in foreground - display is off or another app is open.
Prosody doesn't even have A/V call support. That's a client feature. You need a TURN server and a plugin for prosody like https://prosody.im/doc/coturn to help make the connection though. Additionally the next time you upload a patch also refer where you have it from. This would help me not to waste time on looking for it myself. So attached patch is this commit https://hg.prosody.im/0.11/rev/b4c2c7fae7c0 So basically this is a patch that improves the A/V call experience by considering certain messages important. See https://issues.prosody.im/1548 And this patch is part of Prosody 0.11.8 which is in the devel:languages:lua/prosody devel project and also part of Factory/Tumbleweed. So basically what you want is upgrading Prosody to 0.11.8 in Leap 15.3 before the freeze happens. And yes, I'll do that. Makes sense to have the latest bugfixes in the new Leap. I would prefer not to have such exaggerations regarding a problem and if you already did research then stating the sources for easier checking. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
