[Bug 287193] New: kio_pop3 broken in kdebase3-3.5.7-31.1
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=287193 Summary: kio_pop3 broken in kdebase3-3.5.7-31.1 Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jo@feuersee.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- In the current version in the openSUSE KDE newest packages repository (http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/KDE3/openSUSE_10.2) the POP3(s) KIO slave is broken ("The process for the pop3s://mail.feuersee.de protocol died unexpectedly."). This behavior is reproduceable with different users, so not a KDE settings problem. I tried both pop3 and pop3s on different server, always the same result. I understand that this repository isn't officially supported. It did work with kdebase3 from an earlier build, so it seems the problem is cause by the ongoing change of the repositiory, AFAIK due to backporting to a different filesystem layout used in openSUSE 10.3 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Same problem here. My current workaround: Changed POP3-authentification protocoll from CRAM-MD5 to APOP. For now this works but should be fixed none the less.
best regards
Werner
I should add that mine is a x86-32 Bit system best regards Werner -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

does it work again with the latest kdebase3 from the KDE:KDE3 buildservice project?
Hi Dirk, yes, after upgrading to KDE 3.5.7 "release 52.1", CRAM-MD5 does work fine again with pop.gmx.net, at least for me. thank you very much! :-) Werner -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
