[Bug 800702] New: KDE Setting Crashes when closing root-password-prompt
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800702 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800702#c0 Summary: KDE Setting Crashes when closing root-password-prompt Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 12.3 Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: sdjh@explosive-software.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 Closing or ignoring the root-password-prompt opened by the kde-system-settings causes the application to crash. e.g. Open system-settings, go to "Login" ("Anmeldebildschirm einrichten" in German), change the user's icon under "User" -> "User-Icon". The password-prompt will open (even though in the background). When waiting or closing the prompt, the system-settings will immediately crash (Sorry for the poor debug-output. But I cannot install the debug-symbols on 12.3 beta 1) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. change an option in kde-settings that needs root-privileges 2. close the upcoming root-prompt 3. settings will crash Actual Results: Bug-Report-Window opens. Expected Results: Giving a notification that user-right were not granted. Application: Systemeinstellungen (systemsettings), signal: Segmentation fault Using host libthread_db library "/lib64/libthread_db.so.1".
