After upgrade to 13.1 this stopped working. But when I get the sources and compile dosbox myself, it works. So it looks like that dosbox in oss repo is compiled without alsa midi support. I'm a bit busy with other stuff so I can't take care of this right away. The package didn't change since 12.3. Since you are familiar with building dosbox, maybe you could take a look at the package? Maybe it's just some build requires missing? Getting dosbox should be easy, just "osc bco dosbox".
