That it happens with sax2 is pure coincidence. It happens when the command specified in the "Exec=" line does not exist in the user's PATH. This is the case for sax2 (which is a SaX bug), but gnome-panel should give an error message then, and not crash. The following .desktop files trigger the problem: sax2 gdmsetup The following do _not_ trigger a problem and work just fine in spite of X-KDE-SubstituteUID=true: yast2 gnome-system-log And you can reproduce it as well by deleting any executable and then trying to launch its .desktop file. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=213903 ------- Comment #4 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2006-10-27 19:39 MST ------- And it's reproducible as well with .desktop files that do not have X-KDE-SubstituteUID at all. The non-existant command is what makes it crash. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
