As a first step you might want to try: sleep 1; showkey -s (now hit the buttons and look whether you get scancodes). To check whether the button hits are exported via ACPI, do: watch -n1 cat /proc/interrupts and have a look whether the IRQ 9 increases when hitting the button(try all buttons, could be that some work the one and others the other way). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Command: <sleep 1; showkey -s> gives codes on all keys but for the special Fn-key. I can not figgure out how to use <watch -n1 cat /proc/interrupts> as it continously increases the count for IRQ 9 by approximatly 6 each second whatever I do. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

as it continously increases the count for IRQ 9 by approximatly 6 each second whatever I do. This sounds like a bug, either in BIOS or in the kernel. Please check: /sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/gpe* for enabled gpes and then do a: watch -n1 cat /sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/gpe{xx,yy,...} and monitor enabled GPEs. At lease one should increase with the same rate IRQ9 increases. Which one(s) is(are) it? You might want to remove some ACPI drivers. By that we might get an idea which ACPI subsystem causes that much IRQs: "watch -n1 cat /proc/interrupts" and then" rmmod thermal rmmod fan rmmod ac rmmod button Do IRQs stop then, if yes which driver is it? Try again whether you see IRQ9 action using the key if IRQ activity on line 9 stopped.
Please attach the output of acpidump. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
