It never mounts the CD drive. I have tried this on 3 different machines. One loptop and two desktops with both IDE (CD) and SATA (DVD) drives. There were messages regarding sector errors from virtual console #4 but I didn't capture them sorry. I will attempt to note these down shortly. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The sector errors from the original report make me believe that this very bug is about a broken build/medium. At least I could not reproduce anything similiar. end_request: I/O error dev sr0, sector 1429512 buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 178689
to me this doesn't look like a kiwi error. kiwi tries to mount the DVD and the result is a never ending buffer I/O error sequence. the mount hangs which looks more like a kernel problem to me
Driver 'st' needs updating - please use bus_type methods
this also doesn't look very trustworthy and again points to the kernel used in here kiwi loads the modules "usb-storage sr_mod cdrom ide-cd BusLogic" and searches for a registered CD/DVD drive afterwards. In your case it found one at /dev/sr0 which is ok imho I have created a test live iso with the image description from the kiwi-doc package suse-11.1/suse-live-iso based on 11.1 beta3 and could run it inside qemu. I will attach the boot.kiwi file; kernel version is Linux linux 2.6.27.1-2-default #1 SMP 2008-10-16 20:35:15 +0200 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
