I did the following steps: 1. opended empty Calc document 2. did left mouse click on B4 3. pressed the left mouse button and moved mouse to E7 Result: The cells were getting the blue background when moving the mouse 4. went to B10 by arrow keys (keyboard) 5. pressed shift and moved cursor to E14 by arrow keys (keyboard) Result: The cells were getting the blue backgroud when moving the cursor. I have hard time building ooo-build trunk with --enable-kde option. It seems to have trouble with KDE address book support. Even with --disable-kab, vcl won't build because of missing kabc headers... But I still can't reproduce it. But just to add more info, with the new translucent cell selection, Calc pushes most of cell selection stuff to VCL for rendering. And because this issue seems to be dependent on the DE, the code responsible for this code may be outside Calc's code itself. I'm not saying this just to avoid being assigned. ;-) Having said that, I notice that Ferdinand's hardware is 64-bit. I wonder if this problem only happens on a 64-bit environment...
