'minimal server installation' with NetworkManager? Yes, that does sound like a valid conflict to me. the only 'acceptable' bug I can see is the 'UI' eating the info that it conflicts with the chosen pattern... but then, the error message tells you to go to the software manager to resolve it, where the dialog shows what can / cannot be done. (In your comment #3, option 1 is the right one: 'remove' the pattern limitation.
