Using yast bootloader does not indicate any problems; however, the grub2 code is never written to the partition. Using grub2-install gives the following errors: dg-linux:~ # grub2-install /dev/sda8 /usr/sbin/grub2-bios-setup: warning: File system `ext2' doesn't support embedding. /usr/sbin/grub2-bios-setup: warning: Embedding is not possible. GRUB can only be installed in this setup by using blocklists. However, blocklists are UNRELIABLE and their use is discouraged.. /usr/sbin/grub2-bios-setup: error: will not proceed with blocklists. This filesystem is ext4 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. See above 2. 3. Would you please provide logs under /var/log/YaST2/.. $ tar zcvf yast2logs.tgz /var/log/YaST2 And attach it here .. Were you reproducing this bug by changing installed location in an installed system, not during the system install ?
