The LCD Display is configured for 1680x1050 pixels, the external monitor and graphics resolution are configured to be 1280x1024 or 1024x768 (tried both) when pressing the Fn+F8 key combination, then the LCD gets dark, and the correct image and resolution is shown on the external Display. Pressing this key combination again, disables the external vga connector and enables the internal one again. Pressing the key combination for the third time, then the notebook just freezes. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

This produces a 1920x something resolution on the second vga connector, which the projector cannot handle. when the cable is just plugged into the vga connector, then the screen is 1024x102x (despite the configured 1024x768 in Sax (also tried 1280x1024, it also switches back to 1024x1024)) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Additionally I wonder if the configuration for external 1024x768 is correct. Without it, the LCD Display of the notebook refuses to use the 1680x1050 resolution at all, it will use 1280x768 or sth. similar. I not only tested to set the external port to 1024x768 but also to 1280x1024 (Vesa monitor, with same resolution as the graphisc display each time) I tried without Load "dri", no difference. Then I tried without Load "glx" too, also no difference. before these tests, I tested the following 915resolutions: the best tested configuration is: in /etc/sysconfig/videobis reset the mode 58 to 1680x1050 then when just connecting the projector, then the projector shows the image, but at the left side, about 5-10cm are missing. Then pressing Fn+F8 sets the projector to 1400x1050, then pressing it again, makes the projector black (besides a bunch of flickering pixels at the bottom) and activates the LCD again. Then pressing the key combination again, to reactivate the projector, will freeze the notebook. randomly the following modes are overwritten in /etc/sysconfig/videobios, with following results: Mode result with plugged in Monitor result after pressing Fn+F8 3a 1024x1024 and 5 cm from left missing not tested 3c 1024x1024, all on the screen, but tries to make a 1920x something proportion of screen doesn't fit 58 like 3a 400x1050 works ok 5c like 3c like 3c 4d like 3c like 3c 41 like 3a, but not so much missing left not tested 4b like 3a not tested 45 like 3a not tested -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Anyway, it's a known issue that the hotkeys for switching internal/external displays are not supported. BTW, this is the reason why we configure clone mode by default. If the hotkey works for you, good luck. It it doesn't it is something we cannot fix. ==> WONTFIX -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
