http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=619889 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=619889#c0 Summary: gdm: Some items from /etc/gdm/gdm.schemas are ignored (SuSE patch) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: RC 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: sbrabec@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Some items in /etc/gdm/gdm.schemas are present but ignored, as values there are overriden by another values from /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager. It is pretty confusing, especially for people migrating from other distros. It would be nice to delete these items or at least change keyword to "ignored" or add appropriate comment. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I seen it in /etc/gdm/gdm.schemas, edited it there and it didn't work. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It shouldn't be edited, and this is documented in http://library.gnome.org/admin/gdm/stable/configuration.html.en#daemonconfig If this is the cause of your confusion, then maybe a bug should be filed upstream to add a comment to the schema file to mention this. Or is there anything you suggest we could do? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
