[Bug 542017] New: Partitionner gives incorrect message during installation (which is scary from a professional point of view!)
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=542017 Summary: Partitionner gives incorrect message during installation (which is scary from a professional point of view!) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Factory Platform: x86 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: pearson44j@wanadoo.fr QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.5; Linux) KHTML/3.5.10 (like Gecko) SUSE I re-installed v11.2 on my T60 using the openSUSE-DVD-Build0268-i586.iso When I install I always set : LANG=US keyboard = FR When it came time to partition I imported my mounts. This is an option that I really like because it saves me time and it reduces the chance of making a mistake! After having imported my old mount points - I selected the SWAP partition in Expert Partitioner Windows by hitting Edit In the 'Edit Partition /dev/sdX window' - I selected 'Format Partition' On drop down list 'File system' Swap was indicated I then hit the Finish button In Expert Partiner Windows - I hit Accept or Finish button (sorry I forget) I then received a message which I do not like. The Message Window was - you have not assigned a swap partition. There is nothing wrong with that, but... This message should ***not*** happen. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Yes 2. 3. Actual Results: no actuel damage - but the message has no reason to happen - The fact that it happens diminishes the image of the product from a professional (production) point of view! Partitionner does not appear to know what is going on - something which one would find scary if they value their data! Expected Results: A different message - your call on that Please follow my instructions - I am sure you will have the same results... you need to actually re install in order to check my claim out. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
