[Bug 1067769] New: noexec mountflags crash kwin, ksmserver-logout-greeter
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1067769 Bug ID: 1067769 Summary: noexec mountflags crash kwin, ksmserver-logout-greeter Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE Factory Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: eppers@posteo.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0 Build Identifier: Remounting /home and /tmp with noexec flag causes Plasma components (kwin, ksmserver-logout-greeter) to crash !Note that my operating system is actually not factory but tumbleweed. This choice is unfortunately not available in the operating system dropdown menu. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. remount /home and /tmp with noexec flag 2. KWin: move a window to the top of the screen, in order to have it maximized 2. ksmserver-logout-greeter: try to logout or shut down Actual Results: 3. KWin and ksmserver-logout-greeter segfault Expected Results: Plasma components should be ok with /tmp or at least /home being noexec. noexec mountflags are a common and recommended security practice, and it would really be a pity if this was broken in openSUSE/KDE -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
