[Bug 856999] New: Gamin / FAM development package conflict (fam.h and libfam.so)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=856999 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=856999#c0 Summary: Gamin / FAM development package conflict (fam.h and libfam.so) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: andre.cbarros@yahoo.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=573033) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=573033) spec patch User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0 Both, FAM and Gamin development packages provide /usr/include/fam.h and /usr/%{lib}/libfam.so. This is an old problem (since OS 11.4, I think). It is also easily fixed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to install them both. 2. 3. Actual Results: You can't. This problem affect the installation of some packages, on my case, codeblocks do not works properly (hangs on close and has high CPU utilization, all related to FS monitoring). An easy fix is supplied and do not affect too many packages (none that I know). First, move fam.h from gamin to /usr/include/gamin. Second delete libfam.so provided by gamin. It fix the problem and both packages can be installed. Note that on the spec patch there are extra patches to be applied, they came from fedora package repository and debian one. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
