The only way to get back control of the system is to hard power off and on again. Upgraded from 11.0 to 11.1 RC1. One log seems to be of your currently running system, with just random RandR noise at the end. The other log is a log of your X being taken down seemingly correctly. There seems to be no indication of your X hardlocking anything. Please try the following: * log in over ssh twice when X is running normally. * tail -f /var/log/messages * tail -f /var/log/Xorg.0.log and then let the screensaver kick in. Either the box fully hardlocks, and the remote sessions stop responding.
