https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=681136 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=681136#c0 Summary: shutdown from opensuse 11.4 login screen asks for root password but does not accept input Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: mattm3a@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.25 SUSE/12.0.705.0 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/12.0.705.0 Safari/534.25 At the initial login screen for KDE for opensuse 11.4, a shutdown brings up a box for the root password. This box appears to ignore all input. It provides no feedback when either the correct or an incorrect password is entered. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. boot machine 2. select shutdown from menu at KDE login screen 3. Actual Results: There is a box that asks for the root password to shutdown. This box does not seem to allow any input. There is no input feedback (which is sometimes intentional to mask passwords), but attempting with the correct password multiple times failed. Expected Results: Box should accept password. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

In the kde, login screen, I have a tab "stop" and can setup to "admin only", but I still can shutdown as a user in any screen. Can you say how you setup this feature? thanks jdd -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
