After applying Kernel updates virtualbox does not work because it is not updated for the newer Kernel. I was getting the exact message Kresten posted. The issue is the kernel version the virtualbox is built against and nothing more. If a package is shipped with openSUSE that has a kernel module it ***MUST*** be updated with any kernel updates. Having to switch to the package in OBS *IS NOT* an acceptable solution.
