Upon reboot, KDE provides the message: A Fatal Error Occurred The application Okular (okular) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV). Outline of steps: 1) Open pdf file. 2) modify latex source 3) latex source.tex 4) dvipdf source.dvi Usually this results in a new pdf file, and okular updates the open document to reflect the new one. I have been unable to get a backtrace. When I run with in gdb, I see messages for: Error: PDF file is damaged - attempting to reconstruct xref table... Error: Couldn't find trailer dictionary Error: Couldn't read xref table okular(9835)/kio (KDirWatch) KDirWatchPrivate::removeEntry: doesn't know "/home/ matt/TimingLocation" I also see messages for thread creation and deletion: [New Thread 0xb2f2fb90 (LWP 9857)] [Thread 0xb2f2fb90 (LWP 9857) exited] [New Thread 0xb2f2fb90 (LWP 9860)] [Thread 0xb2f2fb90 (LWP 9860) exited] At the time of the crash, the system is entirely nonresponsive, so I can't run a backtrace. I also tried running okular in valgrind, but I get the same behavior. When I close okular, the system stops responding to input. I get a signal 6 (SIGABRT) after updating several times, but without closing the file.
