I do see a notification, new window appear, but with (-1 unread) on top of it and I don't see a text. Even the history of previous conversation start to appears in some weird order afterward. Resending the message once window is opened works well, but the -1 unread text never appeared as well as a notification icon in a task bar. I've updated to empathy.rpm 3.10.0 to get a rid of autoscroll bug, which was fixed, but this does remain. BTW: I do use Groupwise and IRC transports and it happens on both.
