The password dialog does NOT even appear. Hello? If you have autologin enabled, then you get exactly that, being able to log in without a password. As for the second problem: How many hours, roughly? Is there anything in ~/.xsession-errors or any other indication of a problem? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=290263#c3 Mike Wells <mike_wells@cox.net> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEEDINFO |ASSIGNED Info Provider|mike_wells@cox.net | --- Comment #3 from Mike Wells <mike_wells@cox.net> 2007-07-13 16:41:55 MST --- Excuse me! Locking the session should have exactly the same effect as restarting the GUI server (CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE). Even though autologin is enabled, when the sever is restarted you are REQUIRED to enter your password. Locking the session in KDE is absolutely useless if someone can come along, hit your reset button and come up to an unlocked session. PERIOD! As to the second problem; the first time I noticed this I had been away from my machine for a couple of hours. Came back, moved the mouse expecting the Session Locked dialog box and the dialog never appeared. Was right back into an unlocked session. Played around with it some more and discovered that it might only be taking 10-15 minutes or so for the session to 'unlock' itself. The is nothing in .xsession-errors that points to anything relating to this and I do not see 'any other indication of a problem' Lastly, I find myself spending way too much time troubleshooting the FEW real bugs that I have submitted since 9.1. I will NOT be able to devote any more time to this particular issue.
