https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=780631 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=780631#c0 Summary: XFCE beeps for error on shutdown Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: 64bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bluedzins@wp.pl QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0.1 In OS 12.1 logging out, rebooting, etc was normal operation. In OS 12.2 when user even selects logout menu XFCE beeps for error. The same when user presses power off button. This command shutdowns XFCE (and computer) without error beep (thus correctly, as before -- in OS 12.1).
That's way strange since xfce4-session just calls the corresponding CK methods to perform shutdown. Are you running xfce4-session? What is the exact version of the xfce4-session package? Is this a stock openSUSE 12.2 install or do you have the X11:xfce repo enabled? What happens if try to shutdown by running xfce4-session-logout -h ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

xfce4-session-logout -h
System shutdown, no error beep (correctly; as in OS 12.1). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The "Log out" menu entry is nothing but a desktop file (namely /usr/share/applications/xfce4-session-logout.desktop) for executing /usr/bin/xfce4-session-logout which appears to work fine when you execute it manually. Can you create a pristine user account and try to reproduce from there? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

And as I wrote before there is error beep also when I press power off button (hardware button) and computer shuts down. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
