I have gone under "Hardware", then in "Graphix card and Monitor" and have simply unchecked "Activate 3D acceleration" checkbox. I have not seen any error in Xorg.0.log; the error reported above is only given by vlc application, from the console. A general Xserver and driver issue. Should be possible with EXA at some point. Needs to be fixed upstream. Maybe this could be an interim solution: Only apply the big Virtual size if DualHead mode is activated and configured for Xinerama in SAX2. And: If DualHead is configured for Xinerama, use the minimun needed virtual resolution (+16 or +8), which depends on monitor-layout and their max.resolutions.
