https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=822844 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=822844#c0 Summary: 08ff:168f AuthenTec, Inc. AES1660 Fingerprint Sensor not supported Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: pascal.allegra@yahoo.it QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/27.0.1453.93 Safari/537.36 Hi, i tried to configure my Fingerprint Sensor (08ff:168f) and I noted that it isn't recognized by Yast2 fingerprint-reader. It's is supported by fprint as you can check here https://launchpad.net/~fingerprint/+archive/fingerprint-gui and it works fine with my Ubuntu 12.04.2. I notice that libfprint, in openSUSE 12.3, was 0.40 version so I upgraded using the Hardware repository (http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/hardware/openSUSE_12.3) and upgraded libfprint0 (32 and 64 bit) and pam_fprint (32 and 64 bit). Now I can scan my finger but yast2 says that no supported devices are found. I'm available to provide further information. You will see the message that no supported devices found. Actual Results: Upgraded libfprint0 and pam_fprint from the openSUSE 12.3 hardware repository. zypper up libfprint0-0.5.0-40.1.x86_64 libfprint0-32bit-0.5.0-40.1.x86_64 zypper up pam_fprint-0.2-17.1.x86_64 pam_fprint-32bit-0.2-17.1.x86_64 Start fprint-enroll and the fingerprint works. Expected Results: Yast2 recognizes the fingerprint reader, but it doesn't. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

--- Comment #4 from Pascal Allegra
I don't have the hardware. Please take this upstream to the libfprint maintainers.
