http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=578550 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=578550#c0 Summary: Kernel 2.6.31.12 breaks wifi for atheros card Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: david.maillists@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.9 SUSE/5.0.315.0-1.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/5.0.315.0 Safari/532.9 After upgrading to kernel 2.6.31.12-0.1.1 (desktop version, didn't try the default version of the kernel), the wifi disappeared. ifconfig only displayed lo and eth0. You can do that by: rpm -ivh ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/kernel/kotd/openSUSE-11.2/i586/kernel-desktop.rpm And when you eventually boot to the new (non-working) one, grab dmesg output and attach here. I guess you have busted EEPROM. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
