https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=892703 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=892703#c0 Summary: udev incorrectly renames usb ethernet adapter, ignoring persistent net rules Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: nevion@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.0 [ 3023.219215] ax88179_178a 4-5:1.0 eth1: register 'ax88179_178a' at usb-0000:00:14.0-5, ASIX AX88179 USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet, d8:eb:97:b3:12:6c [ 3023.237845] systemd-udevd[13701]: renamed network interface eth1 to enp0s20u5 [ 3785.813127] r8169 0000:04:00.2 eth0: link up saa@lightning:~> /sbin/ifconfig enp0s20u5 enp0s20u5 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr D8:EB:97:B3:12:6C inet addr:192.168.111.243 Bcast:192.168.111.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::daeb:97ff:feb3:126c/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:1572101 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:13290173 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:92790229 (88.4 Mb) TX bytes:20088898776 (19158.2 Mb) saa@lightning:~> cat /etc/udev/rules.d/ 55-libsane.rules 70-kpartx.rules 71-kpartx-compat.rules 99-iwlwifi-led.rules 56-sane-backends-autoconfig.rules 70-persistent-net.rules 90-novatel.rules saa@lightning:~> cat /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="0c:8b:fd:d3:aa:e0", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="wlan*", NAME="wlan0" SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="00:90:f5:f1:12:33", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth0" SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="D8:EB:97:B3:12:6C", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth1" Yet another udev grievance... I should bill Lennart for my time too. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Plug in usb adapter - enter mac address rule in /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules - restart udev or reboot - observe your configuration beautifully ignored. Actual Results: system-udevd renames eth1 to enp0s20u5 Expected Results: system-udevd does not rename eth1 to enp0s20u5 and that new broken scheme. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
