[Bug 1156826] New: Occasional segfault related to libcurl when installing packages
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1156826 Bug ID: 1156826 Summary: Occasional segfault related to libcurl when installing packages Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: libzypp Assignee: zypp-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: baileykasin@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:70.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/70.0 Build Identifier: When installing packages with zypper, sometimes it fails during the downloading of packages. The same happens when being done through YaST2. The process will either hang indefinitely, or properly exit with a segfault. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Attempt to install a package. It seems to happen more often with patterns, but I think that it is due to the amount of packages being installed. Actual Results: Either hangs or crashes with the following: [1] 6530 segmentation fault sudo zypper in -t pattern lxqt When watching journalctl, I get the log in additional info. Expected Results: Packages successfully install. journalctl log: Nov 14 19:47:28 selenium sudo[6530]: bailey : TTY=pts/1 ; PWD=/home/bailey ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/usr/bin/zypper in -t pattern lxqt Nov 14 19:47:28 selenium sudo[6530]: pam_unix(sudo:session): session opened for user root(uid=0) by bailey(uid=0) Nov 14 19:47:31 selenium dbus-daemon[1703]: [system] Activating service name='org.opensuse.Snapper' requested by ':1.147' (uid=0 pid=6590 comm="/usr/bin/python3 /usr/lib/zypp/plugins/commit/snap") (using servicehelper) Nov 14 19:47:31 selenium dbus-daemon[6592]: [system] Failed to reset fd limit before activating service: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied: Failed to restore old fd limit: Operation not permitted Nov 14 19:47:31 selenium dbus-daemon[1703]: [system] Successfully activated service 'org.opensuse.Snapper' Nov 14 19:47:32 selenium kernel: zypper[6531]: segfault at 7f9700000020 ip 00007f9724b08030 sp 00007ffcd5f0b880 error 4 in libcurl.so.4.6.0[7f9724ad7000+61000] Nov 14 19:47:32 selenium kernel: Code: c1 66 0f 1f 84 00 00 00 00 00 48 39 78 20 7f 43 75 0b 39 70 28 7f 3c 0f 8d cd 00 00 00 48 8b 48 08 48 85 c9 0f 84 c0 00 00 00 <48> 39 79 20 7f 12 0f 8c 94 00 00 00 39 71 28 0f 8c 8b 00 00 00 0f Nov 14 19:47:32 selenium sudo[6530]: pam_unix(sudo:session): session closed for user root curl --version: curl 7.67.0 (x86_64-suse-linux-gnu) libcurl/7.67.0 OpenSSL/1.1.1c zlib/1.2.11 libidn2/2.2.0 libpsl/0.21.0 (+libidn2/2.2.0) libssh/0.9.0/openssl/zlib nghttp2/1.39.2 Release-Date: 2019-11-06 zypper version 1.14.32 libzypp version 17.15.0-1.3 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
