http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=558938 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=558938#c0 Summary: gnucash can't find gnucash docs Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: adalberto.castelo@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 SUSE/3.5.4-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.4 gnucash can't find help docs or tutorials that were installed via gnucash-docs package. When trying to use help docs, dialog with error message appears: "GnuCash could not find the files for the help documentation. This is likely because the 'gnucash-docs' package is not installed" Quick checks: % rpm -q gnucash gnucash-2.2.9-3.4.x86_64 % rpm -q gnucash-docs gnucash-docs-2.2.0-177.3.noarch Spot checking files from rpm -ql gnucash-docs shows that they are indeed present. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start gnucash from kde menu for first time. 2. Select new user tutorial from initial splash screen (when using it for first time). OR 1. start gnucash from kde menu. 2. select help->contents or help->tutorial and concepts guide. Actual Results: When trying to use help docs, dialog with error message appears: "GnuCash could not find the files for the help documentation. This is likely because the 'gnucash-docs' package is not installed" Expected Results: Help docs should appear. Default install, no changes to KDE setup, only opensuse 11.2 packages, no external repositories. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

yelp is installed by default in gnome. Should we install yelp in KDE as well by default ? Should there be any package whose .spec file needs to have Requires: yelp ?
It seems that yelp is a requirement of gnucash. Why not simply add that dependency to the gnucash rpm? Adding yelp as a default install to KDE without the direct dependency in gnucash would still create problems to anyone that may choose a desktop other than KDE or gnome (say blackbox) and tries to run gnucash. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
