[Bug 665541] New: vm-install fails tu create a virtual machine (kvm) after update to vm-install-0.4.27-2.1.2 (error in created xml)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=665541 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=665541#c0 Summary: vm-install fails tu create a virtual machine (kvm) after update to vm-install-0.4.27-2.1.2 (error in created xml) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: Alexander.Fleischer@tu-ilmenau.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 SUSE/3.6.13-3.1 Firefox/3.6.13 While creating a virtual machine (kvm) with vm-install (install OS, OpenSuSE 11, physical cdrom added), after the last step, there is an error message about a mismatched Tag in xml (mismatched domain and clock tag). In the created xml file is "<clock offset="utc" />" followed by a wrong closing tag "</clock>". For testing, I've grep'ed the python source for the clock line and removed the "/" in the opening tag, but then there were a lot of other python errors (phy protocol not supportet, cannot iterate over empty list) after doing this. I'm not a python programmer, so i downgraded to vm-install 0.4.26, this version works. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 0. Use vm-install-0.4.27-2.1.2 from updates repository 1. create virtual machine with vm-install (kvm) (see details) 2. In the last step, click ok (maybe the system clock must set to utc to reproduce) Actual Results: error message about mismatched xml tags domain and clock Expected Results: create the virtual machine and start it for OS installation like 0.4.26 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Nice that it has been "fixed". Will there be a fix package for the update repository and if so, when?
An update was just recently released before this fix could make it in. It will be some time before another one goes out. You can download a fixed vm-install RPM from here, http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Virtualization/openSUSE_11.3/x86_6... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
