[Bug 744763] New: Screen is only partially refreshed after switching back from dual monitor configuration
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=744763 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=744763#c0 Summary: Screen is only partially refreshed after switching back from dual monitor configuration Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: curdyben@gmx.de QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1 On a Thinkpad T420s with i915-compatible Optimus video card (nVidia NVS 4200M, but only Intel i915 activated under Linux), switching back from a dual monitor setup with xrandr nearly always results in a setting in which the upper third (or half, roughly) of the built-in notebook display is not refreshed (until logout). Window contents are only updated in this area after minimizing and re-enlarging the window. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Setup of dual screen configuration: $ xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto (or --rate 60 --mode 1600x900, no difference) $ xrandr --output VGA1 --auto --left-of LVDS1 Switch back to LVDS1 (internal LCD): $ xrandr --output VGA1 --off $ xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto (or --rate 60 --mode 1600x900, no difference) Actual Results: The upper third (and, if these steps are repeated, the upper half) of the built-in LCD are no longer refreshed. Logging out and back in to KDE solves the problem (until you switch to a dual-monitor setup and back again). I am using a KMS setup without xorg.conf. The 60 Hz vsync frequency from the xrandr output below has been checked up in Windows. $ xrandr Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1600 x 900, maximum 8192 x 8192 LVDS1 connected 1600x900+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 310mm x 174mm 1600x900 60.0*+ 1024x768 60.0 800x600 60.3 56.2 640x480 59.9 VGA1 connected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 1920x1200 59.9 + 1600x1200 75.0 60.0 1680x1050 60.0 1280x1024 75.0 60.0 1280x960 60.0 1152x864 75.0 1024x768 75.1 70.1 60.0 800x600 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2 640x480 72.8 75.0 60.0 720x400 70.1 $ rpm -qf /usr/bin/xrandr xorg-x11-7.6-67.3.1.x86_64 The kernel version is 3.1.0-1.2-desktop (x86_64). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Which Intel GPU ("hwinfo --gfxcard") is this?
