[Bug 857129] New: Font/Background issue in some of input fields of KDE Workspace (Kickoff) after upgrade 12.3 to 13.1
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=857129 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=857129#c0 Summary: Font/Background issue in some of input fields of KDE Workspace (Kickoff) after upgrade 12.3 to 13.1 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: lambhaka@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=573106) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=573106) screen short of an issue User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/31.0.1650.63 Safari/537.36 Some time after an update 12.3 to 13.1 I've noticed an issue with the input field for search string in the KMenu (Kickoff) after that I've seen one more example of such a behaivour. The problem is, that the background of the TextEdit for search string in the Kickoff menu as well as of the password input field became pretty dark color, so that the entered text (with the used black font) become barely readable. After small discussion in the forum, it came out, that the issue is reproducible by setting KDE Style to "Gtk+ Style" in "Configure Desktop"->"Application Appearance"->"Style" As I've changed the style multiple times (from originally Oxygen to all available other ones and back), the problem was gone for all the styles but "Gtk+ Style". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set KDE Style to "GTK+ Style" 2. Call the Kickoff menu and enter some text in the search fiel Actual Results: Font is black and the background of the input field is very dark, so the font is barely readable. Expected Results: Black font on the bright background of the input field The bound descussion in the opensuse forum: http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/applications/4939... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

But the problem also is: after rebooting an issue is right back: although I've chosen the oxygen theme at the end. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This screen short shows the settings dialog (in german) by the active MS Windows 9x theme. As you can see, the theme wasn't applied correctly. In the next attachment I'll show the MS Windows 9x theme after switching the theme to another one and then back to the MS Windows 9x one. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The issue isn't gone (is still there after a reboot, even in non GTK+ Style) and is even more annoying as noticed at the beginning (no style changes survive a reboot).
Please try to logout, and then, remove ~/.config/Trolltech.conf file. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thanks a lot. It has fixed the issue. In the ~/.config/Trolltech.conf file there was a setting related to GTK+ theme. Possibly that was the reason of such a behavior. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
