[Bug 1056763] New: VUL-0: CVE-2017-14059: ffmpeg: DoS in cine_read_header() due to lack of an EOF check
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1056763 Bug ID: 1056763 Summary: VUL-0: CVE-2017-14059: ffmpeg: DoS in cine_read_header() due to lack of an EOF check Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Security Assignee: security-team@suse.de Reporter: abergmann@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: Security Response Team Blocker: --- CVE-2017-14059 In FFmpeg 3.3.3, a DoS in cine_read_header() due to lack of an EOF check might cause huge CPU and memory consumption. When a crafted CINE file, which claims a large "duration" field in the header but does not contain sufficient backing data, is provided, the image-offset parsing loop would consume huge CPU and memory resources, since there is no EOF check inside the loop. Upstream fix: https://github.com/FFmpeg/FFmpeg/commit/7e80b63ecd259d69d383623e75b318bf2bd4...
