First I set it up in the settings menu. Tried the 2 mentioned formats. I restarted the software checked the settings and scanned. When the scan was finished it offered to save as .png.
That does work fine here, with both formats, and even without restarting it. So in your case it offers the wrong format by default? And it does save in the corresponding format if you choose that in the appearing file dialog, I suppose? (your original comment sounded like it would always save as .png in that case too) What other settings do you have exactly? Also, are you running it in Plasma, or on a different desktop? Qt uses different file dialogs depending on the desktop, and that may play a role here.
Btw. is there a place to request features? Like to make my friends dualboot obsolete. Therefore it was great to have a print button in skanlite.
bugs.kde.org for features (and also bugs) in KDE Applications. We only package what gets released upstream, we do not develop the applications (nor add features e.g.). This particular one has already been reported/requested years ago though: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327304 There's also kooka btw that does have a print button, but there hasn't been a release in years (the last one is still KDE3 based...). Although I think I read somewhere that there may be a KF5 release soon. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
