If you got an error, don't forget to pass -Dplughw option. Also -vv option will give you a nice VU meter. If you didn't see any errors but no sound, then check the mixer setup. Especially, if "SB Live Analog/Digital Output Jack" is on, turn it off. OK, so unmuting PCM obviously made sound work again. But the chopiness is terrible. Having a ton of: Feb 19 12:39:08 scoomoon pulseaudio[11562]: module-alsa-sink.c: ALSA woke us up to write new data to the device, but there was actually nothing to write! Most likely this is an ALSA driver bug. Please report this issue to the PulseAudio developers. Yet, one of my core it tied up by X (another bug for that), but I would think that an AMD6000+ core would suffice to playback an ogg. However, this may not be the same issue, so if you feel this is enough for this bug, this is fine by me. Thanks a lot for the quick responses.
