After the upgrade was completed i did rebooted the system and after entering my username and password in order to login i was surprised to see that i dont hear any event sounds starting with the one that announces that KDE desktop was loaded. Phonon backend used is gstreamer and the weird thing is that using dolphin i was able to hear sound from the event files listed in /usr/share/sounds/ Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Upgrade to kde 4.8.1 2. Reboot the system after upgrade 3.
