The Gnome main menu loses focus after pressing Space. That's on a default installation without any customization. 1/ Start an xterm and leave the mouse pointer within it (upper right corner). 2/ Press Alt-F1 to open the main menu. 3/ Press Tab to enter the "Favorite Applications" list. 4/ Press Space to see where the focus sits in the Favorite Applications list. ==> It flashes for a fraction of a second and then, it lost focus and the cursor blinks in mentioned xterm (see step 1/).
