[Bug 997443] New: kiwi depends on compatibility symlinks from the wodim family - icedax, cdrkit-cdrtools-compat and genisoimage.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=997443 Bug ID: 997443 Summary: kiwi depends on compatibility symlinks from the wodim family - icedax, cdrkit-cdrtools-compat and genisoimage. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Virtualization:Tools Assignee: virt-bugs@suse.de Reporter: davejplater@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de CC: ms@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- I've stripped the wodim package of all it's cdrtools compatibility symlinks and kiwi-7.03 from Factory fails on various unit tests. It will only pass these tests if the cdrtools family mkisofs, cdrecord, btcflash and cdda2wav are included in the build. With the exception of wodim's icedax which the makers chose to use binary names that are identical to cdda2wav's binaries, cdrtools can exist on the same system as wodim without the symlinks. The only remaining package that needs the cdrkit-cdrtools-compat symlinks is kiwi. Kiwi should use the actual binaries and not the symlinks. See wodim stripped of symlinks : https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:plater/wodim Using symlinks for genisoimage linked to mkisofs in the cdrtools package results in this : The build of a kiwi image now fails with: [ 1423s] Sep-05 09:04:54 <3> : Failed to call /usr/bin/genisoimage: Bad Option '-allow-limited-size' (error -1 BADFLAG). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
