http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=961804 Bug ID: 961804 Summary: The module Remote Administration (VNC) crash X server Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: 2015* Hardware: Other OS: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: mcaj@suse.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 661681 --> http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=661681&action=edit Y2 log HI I found a bug in the YaST2 remote module for VNC. it`s very funny because it unexpectedly crash whole X server :D.... This bug was found in the latest Tumbleweed and Leap as well (both up to date versions). The bug is happening only during initial setting for the VNC when you usually need some missing packages... let start from beginning: step one install the fresh Opensuse Tumbleweed or Leap in the standard settings. step two start Yast2 with Running KDE/Plasma5 and select Remote Administration (VNC). enable is and there will be additional window with the missing package xorg-x11. then the package will be install plus some more need packages .... Last step when its done, the X server crash. When I open the module again after I had restarted the X server is not crashing any more. more information about it see in the attachment with log file. BTW I see there 2016-01-13 20:42:02 <2> tryskosnek.suse.cz(5642) [Ruby] modules/Remote.rb:376 Your display manager must be restarted. To take the changes in remote administration into account, please restart it manually or log out and log in again. - with that I have no trouble I would be nice to do in the right time... then is this ugly line: 2016-01-13 20:42:02 <5> tryskosnek.suse.cz(5642) [zypp] ZYppFactory.cc(sigsegvHandler):53 Error: signal 11 Martin -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
