Can you try a couple more things for me? 1. Does running hwinfo while playing in another gstreamer-based player cause the music to skip? 2. If you turn of Digital Audio Player support in Banshee (Edit menu -> Preferences, then Extensions tab) and then play something and run hwinfo, does it skip?
