It doesn't copy memory pages to disk swap-partition, alt-sysrq doesn't respond. I have to use hard-reset. After fiddling with the settings in /etc/suspend.conf it turned out that "compression=y" seems to cause the trouble. Neither "early writeout" nor "splash" affected the problem. Without compression, suspend to disk works on both new systems (whereas on the two systems it works regardless of the settings).
