[Bug 767383] New: drag-remove icons off toolbar fails to "drop" (release)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=767383 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=767383#c0 Summary: drag-remove icons off toolbar fails to "drop" (release) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Factory Platform: x86 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mrmazda@earthlink.net QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=495063) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=495063) .xsession-errors Installation Thursday night from factory-snapshot immediately followed by zypper dup to Factory. 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Rage Mobility M3 AGP 2x (rev 02) on Dell Inspiron 5000e laptop with built-in touchpad. kdebase4-workspace-4.8.4-1.2.i586 xf86-input-evdev-2.7.0-1.1.i586 xf86-input-mouse-1.7.2-1.1.i586 xf86-video-r128-6.8.2-1.1.i586 xorg-x11-driver-input-7.6_1-2.1.noarch Also happens on i865G desktop system (no touchpad) with same SM, FF, KDE, evdev, input, mouse & x11 versions. To reproduce: 1-in Firefox 13 (sometimes) or SeaMonkey 2.10 (usually), select to customize toolbar 2-hold down LMB with pointer on icon to be moved off the toolbar (e.g. "Bookmarks") 3-move mouse pointer into drop area (window of unused icons) 4-release LMB Actual behavior: 1-pointer remains in drag mode 2-icon is not "released" to drop area 3-no further button activities with mouse work 4-FF/SM app must be killed to recover proper mouse operation Expected behavior: 1-pointer returns to arrow 2-selected icon resides in available icon pool window 3-mouse is fully usable Notes: 1-same problem whether I actually use the touchpad, or use a USB trackball plugged in after login 2-I got drops to occur more than once in both FF from openSUSE and Mozilla.org using the same profile on each system, but never with either Mozilla.org's or openSUSE's SM 2.10. 3-same problem whether default or Modern SM theme 4-profiles were freshly created using a user.js file that's always worked elsewhere, and without 5-dragging to toolbar from source pool and from one location to another on same toolbar works as expected 6-I'm not familiar with expected DND behavior in any other X11 applications (I rarely do it). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

OBS is missing SM 2.10 for 12.1. With Mozilla.org's 2.10 and OBS 2.9.1 I can't reproduce this bug. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=767383 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=767383#c3 --- Comment #3 from Felix Miata <mrmazda@earthlink.net> 2012-06-16 20:39:10 UTC --- After reproducing this on 11.4 using SM 2.10, I was about to file upstream, but then again using host t2240 but booted to Fedora 17, this is not reproducible (with the "Bookmarks" icon) using Mozilla.org's SM 2.10.1 (which hit mirrors minutes ago). I tried once more using Mozilla.org's 2.10.1 on 12.2, but still hit this bug trying to remove the "Bookmarks" icon from the Bookmarks Toolbar. I forgot to mention earlier, sometimes on the first try SM acts as if there were no click and drag events, and only on subsequent try from start does the comment 0 behavior result. Another new observation is that until release of the mouse button while the pointer is over the icons window, the pointer may display either the text cursor or nothing at all instead of arrow or hand, and only later will the hand containing document appear, from which point mouse is unusable until SM is killed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
