[Bug 450218] New: alt+f1 shortcut to open kickoff / launcher doesn't work
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=450218 Summary: alt+f1 shortcut to open kickoff / launcher doesn't work Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: martin.schlander@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- What can I say. Alt+F1 doesn't open Kickoff - it's configured to do it in systemsettings, and in ~/.kde4/share/config/kglobalshortcutsrc it's also present as a plasma shortcut. But nevertheless pressing Alt+F1 does nothing. Other shortcuts like Alt+F2, Ctrl+ESC, PrntScrn etc. work just fine. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I create a new user and Alt+F1 works for him. But.. the initial user is also "new". This is a completely fresh RC1 KDE4 livecd installation done this Friday, without reusing any /home/-stuff or anything of that sort. And Alt+F1 never worked. It's one of the first things I tested, since I've also been having problems with this shortcut on 11.0+factory:desktop for a while. I'll do a x86_64 dvd installation on my workstation today. This will be the first thing I test there too. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I did the x86_64 dvd installation, and here Alt+F1 also works. No clue why it won't work on my initial livecd installation and on my 11.0+factory:desktop. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

But I'm happy to say that both my machines running factory KDE on 11.1 have the Alt+F1 shortcut working reliably in recent weeks.
