[Bug 1204070] New: Mozilla Thunderbird 102 will not connect to CalDav and Card Dav Resources.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1204070 Bug ID: 1204070 Summary: Mozilla Thunderbird 102 will not connect to CalDav and Card Dav Resources. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.3 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: screening-team-bugs@suse.de Reporter: zombie.ryushu@zoho.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Mozilla Thunderbird 102 will not connect to CalDav and Card Dav Resources. I use eGroupware to connect to manage Address book, Calendars and Task resources. Upon updating to 102, The TbSync was disabled and when I tried using a beta from github for connecting Thunderbird 102 to TbSync, it seemingly succeeded but no Contacts were Synced. I thought that maybe it had purged my eGroupware contacts database. This turned out not to be the case. I then tried using Thunderbird's native method, this failed too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I've just successfully connected some CardDAV addressbooks with Thunderbird 102.3.1 without visible issues. But I do not use any addon. If it fails for you with TbSync probably that one is broken? Please report an issue for the addon if required. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1204070 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1204070#c2 --- Comment #2 from Zombie Ryushu <zombie.ryushu@zoho.com> --- I use the eGroupware-docker package. I have removed the plugin to attempt to use Thunderbird's CardDav and CalDav Sources. The same thing happens. Thunderbird acts as if its going to connect, hangs there as if it is processing, and after a while gives up. TbSync is listed as incompatible with Thunderbird 102. (the version on the Thunderbird Addon Page says that), but you can side load a beta XPI from github produced by the author. It doesn't work either. It downloads Zero contacts. So it might either be DAV implementation related or something similar. The most useful thing would be to create a bugreport for Thunderbird in that case (bugzilla.mozilla.org) as we most likely won't be able to help sufficiently with that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

It did not resolve this issue, however I had this tested by someone running on a Different Distribution and this person could not replicate the problem. CalDav and CardDav worked as intended. Okay, so I have tried on several systems and the result is always the same: Thunderbird 102 does nothing, but if I back up the version to 91.13, and install TbSync it all works again as intended. If I install the beta version of TbSync for 102 by sideloading it from Github, then all TbSync seems to do is map a CardDav/CalDav entry to Thunderbird using it's native provider. This maybe out of left field, but this server has two IP addresses, (its behind a NAT) and can be accessed internally via VPN or a local Wifi AP or network Jack as "olympia.pukey" as its internal address. How does Thunderbird use DNS For this kind of Auto-discovery of address books? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

There were some actual Unicode entries and other characters in the actual MySQL Table that was breaking Thunderbird. It broke Akonadi as well. This turned out to be an input sanitation issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
