What were you doing when that log message happened?
Can you provide the whole kernel boot log when you boot?
When this happened I think I was having firefox and pidgin running, but I was browsing around with nautilus on the file system. If I don't miss remember I was looking around on my NAS drive at home (Lacie Network storage). Sorry to be a bit vague about what I was doing because it was a few days ago and I haven't been able to reproduce the error. It has happened a few times and what I can remember nautilus has been involved every time. I added the output from dmesg, is that what you wanted about kernel boot log? Thanks for looking into this! -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

That was the last successful read of a sysfs file, I don't know what the actual one that was being tried to read was. It's odd, we are reading an inode of a type that we do not know, which could be memory corruption or something else strange.
Since you were talking about memory corruption I did a memtest86 test. And actually I have some faulty memory :-( ... Address 000339baf90 and 000561822e0 fails. So if this error looks strange, it might actually not be a bug in the kernel but more that I need to get some new RAM ... -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I would blame your memory chips, so I'll close this out. If you can reproduce this with new (and good) memory, please reopen the bug with the new kernel oops message. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
