[Bug 566509] New: unable to override alt-f2 shortcut ("run command")
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=566509 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=566509#c0 Summary: unable to override alt-f2 shortcut ("run command") Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Usability AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: pbaudis@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Both in KDE4 and GNOME/compiz, my custom setting of the alt-f2 shortcut is ignored (I'm used to switching workspaces using alt-fN), instead the "Run command..." dialog always pops up. Curiously, this is a problem in both KDE and GNOME, on the other hand overriding other alt-fN keys works fine. The system is after upgrade from 11.1. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It works for me when using kwin and changing the shortcut in the 'keyboard & mouse' module of systemsettings. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Unfortunately, I can't provide much information for the KDE side anymore since I got it to such a state that plasma-desktop always segfaults on startup, so I have given up on KDE4 for the time being. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It would probably be the best to fill a separate bug for the GNOME/Compiz issue. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
