Does not start on my up-to-date factory installation
which version of package gtk2 do you have in openSUSE 11.2 factory? is it a version 2.17.x? if so, then maybe this is the problem. i had this version (2.17.x) in openSUSE 11.1 (i installed it from gnome-factory-repo) and then acroread didn't work anymore. http://forums.opensuse.org/applications/420745-acrobat-reader-wont-start-2.h... with version 2.14 it works! i don't know if it is possible to install version 2.14 in openSUSE 11.2. but if not, then the source of the incompatibility between acroread and gtk2 2.17.x has to bee found. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Factory at the moment contains 2.17.9, which is incompatible.
AHH! at least somebody knows about that! ;-)
GNOME:Factory (development project) has been updated to 2.17.11, which works with acroread (in fact 2.17.10 already worked again).
oh, i will try that.
The package will be pushed to Factory soon. As a workaround you can get the newer gtk2 from the GNOME:Factory repository.
so my conclusion/assumption was correct that package gtk2 is the source of the problem? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=593249 contains the information from the upstream bug tracker. So in short to answer the question: yes, it is gtk2 issue. As such, I would say the bug can be closed: the solution is ready, the 'quick' fix documented (get gtk2 from GNOME:Factory) and gtk2 will be forwarded to GNOME:Factory asap. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
