[Bug 400389] New: $time in boot scripts refers to the incorrectly named / etc/init.d/boot.clock
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=400389 User dbolt.abiryy@davjam.org added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=400389#c384254 Summary: $time in boot scripts refers to the incorrectly named /etc/init.d/boot.clock Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: RC 1 Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Booting AssignedTo: jsrain@novell.com ReportedBy: dbolt.abiryy@davjam.org QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer When adding a new script to /etc/init.d to be started during the boot process, any scripts that rely on using $time to ensure they start after the system clock is set produce the following warning: To enable service dnetc in runlevel 3, these services must be additionally enabled, because it depends on them: boot.setclock Opting to continue fails with the following error: These required services are missing: boot.setclock
From bug #384254, comment #65, boot.setclock was renamed to boot.clock. This name-change doesn't appear to have been noticed in the System Services (Runlevel) editor.

It doesn't seem to come from yast2-runlevel.
I should have researched it a little more, but you're right that it doesn't come from yast2-runlevel.
Sadly, I was unable to find out what service 'dnetc' is :)
It's a wrapper script I wrote, using the /etc/init.d/skeleton as a basis, to start the distributed.net client on system start.
David, if I'm right, the same message will be returned if you call `insserv dnetc`
Yes it does. Below is the output from the insserv command, and I've attached the dnetc script as well. viper-mk2:~ # insserv dnetc insserv: warning: script 'S01snortd' missing LSB tags and overrides insserv: warning: script 'snortd' missing LSB tags and overrides insserv: Service boot.setclock has to be enabled for service dnetc insserv: exiting now! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
