[Bug 1221214] New: systemctl kexec fails with error
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1221214 Bug ID: 1221214 Summary: systemctl kexec fails with error Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE Tumbleweed Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: screening-team-bugs@suse.de Reporter: jsmithfpv@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Target Milestone: --- Found By: --- Blocker: --- Running systemctl kexec results in the following error. "Failed to open file system "/dev/nvme0n1p1": Permission denied". Running with sudo instead results in "No boot loader entry suitable as default, refusing to guess." It works if you start the kexec-load service prior, so it seems there is an issue with systemctl kexec not triggering services in the kexec.target. A previous bug seems to have issues with /sbin/kexec-bootloader, but those issues seem resolved. This finishes with the correct kernel loaded as shown by kexec-bootloader -D returning images and showing a successful kexec call. https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1153790 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

It requires user auth, which is annoying, but that's at least my temporary fix. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
