[Bug 772725] New: gdm password entry screen too big
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=772725 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=772725#c0 Summary: gdm password entry screen too big Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: RC 1 Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mike.catanzaro@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/535.4+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0 Safari/535.4+ SUSE/12.1 (3.2.1) Epiphany/3.2.1 I really like the new openSUSE logo on the top of the gdm "select user" screen! This obviously required the "select user" screen/window to be enlarged to make space for the logo on top. However, the password entry screen has been enlarged as well - presumably inadvertently, because it has a bunch of empty space. In 12.1, this screen is smaller and looks more professional. This obviously isn't a big deal and new users probably won't notice or care, but it does look bad once you have noticed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Turn on computer and wait for gdm to load. 2. Select your username. Actual Results: Password screen opens. The password entry field is towards the top of the screen, followed by a bunch of empty space and then Cancel / Sign In buttons on the bottom. Expected Results: Password screen opens and is sized to fit the content. Unfortunately I can't provide a screenshot as that doesn't work unless you're logged in, but this one should be obvious enough. Note that the sizes of these two windows are NOT the same on 12.1 - here the "select your username" screen is slightly bigger than the password entry screen - so these are not "tied together" in the code, unless that's a recent change. But in 12.2, the screens do appear to be both the same size. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thus, closing this bug as 'won't fix'; hope the reasoning is clear enough. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
